Let’s give a warm welcome to the newest member of my journaling family – the Start Bay Navigator A5!
For months, I have been missing the leather feel of my Filofax Malden which was serving me very well as a traditional planner in the past; and now, I found the perfect solution to bring the leather back to my life!
The Navigator has four flexible cords inside and can fit up to 4 notebooks of A5 size (medium) and it fits everything you would ever need to keep with you on your travels or just around the house – it’s nice to have all of your most used notebooks in one place 😉
The dimensions are 160mm x 225mm x 25mm but please note, that the cover you can see in the photos here has been made 15mm larger for me because I wanted to be able to fit two hardcover Leuchtturm1917 notebooks inside.
What’s inside my cover?
- Rhodia DotBook
- Leuchtturm1917 medium A5 dotted grid
- Clairefontaine French ruled paper notebook
- Seawhite of Brighton sketchbook
- Double insert pockets by Start Bay Notebooks
The Navigator A5 will comfortably hold any A5 sized notebook or even a book that you are currently reading (depends on its thickness) – I have demonstrated a few different notebooks and setups to give you a better idea of what this cover is capable of:

All in all, I LOVE this leather cover and I just keep looking at it all the time; and yes, I also keep opening the entire setup for no reason, hehe! That’s how much I enjoy my new Navigator! The great thing about this leather cover is that it will last you a lifetime whilst protecting your precious notebooks.
