Filofax Domino, welcome to our Between the steps’ family!
It makes me so happy to show you this wonderful planner today. Why did I get this Filofax? I was trying to find a solution to my unorganized recipe book from which there are many pieces of paper falling out and it is sometimes a challenge to find a recipe you are looking for. Originally, I was searching for an A5 binder but I could not find anything I liked. And because I already have one Filofax (personal size Malden), I knew I would be getting a great product that will last me a lifetime (hopefully!), and it simply seemed the perfect solution to buy a binder/planner that is capable of holding all of our favourite recipes, discount vouchers, weekly meal plans, receipts etc.
I will be sharing a full setup of this recipe book with you once it is done, but before that let’s have a look at what you get when you open the package and find your super classy organizer inside 🙂
Filofax Domino cover is a faux leather, it feels nice and smooth in your hands and it is securely closed with an elastic band. It has two pen loops stitched on both sides inside – these are very flexible and can hold even a thick fountain pen, such as Lamy LX.
When you open it, you can see that there is a lot of space to store your stickers, business cars, vouchers, spare washi tape, photos etc. You can compare the size of these slots and pockets in this video.
Domino organizer lies flat when you open it. It has a 6-ring binding system and mine came with the following bundle:
- Filofax black flyleaf – you can stick your washi tape on it and easily peel it off when needed 😉
- 6 dividers
- To-do pages
- plain and coloured (red, green, blue) lined sheets
- square grid and white notepaper
- contacts & indices
- week on two pages diary – mine came with a 2017 diary (as of Sep 17th, 2017)
- top opening plastic envelope – great for storing receipts, magazine cut-outs etc.
- ruler/page marker
Because 2017 year is coming to an end, I ordered an additional 2018 week on two pages diary BUT this one is a horizontal layout. I prefer this layout as opposed to a vertical one because there is visually more space for decorating. Please, bear in mind that this is a personal preference and you might like something completely different than I do 😉
The size of these inserts is A5 so the actual organizer (cover) is slightly larger than A5 size:
At the back, there is a notepad pocket. At first, I thought it would be great to put your phone in there but it turns out, the pocket is open at the bottom as well so if you would put any thing inside, yes, it would fall out.
A test page? Why not!
This original Filofax paper I have to say is not the best quality, hence if you like using stamps, Tombows, PaperMate Flair pens, thicker fountain pen nibs etc., you might want to opt for a different option because most of these pens bleed through the paper. On Philofaxy, you can find a TON of free printables created particularly for these beautiful Filofax organizers – go ahead and check it out, you will LOVE that blog!
The back of the cover has an engraved Filofax logo and look at that stitching, isn’t it gorgeous? This organizer had easily become one my most favourite supplies that my family will enjoy using every day! And I cannot wait to show you the final look of this new recipe book!!
